Thanks for checking out my fitness page! You may be reading this because you’re ready to start something new in 2020. I wanted to take this opportunity to share my current class timetable.
- Stretch
Every Monday and Saturday at 10am at the Roger Bettles Sports Centre in Oadby, Leicester
- Pilates
-Fitness Pro Wednesday’s 6pm
-Leicestershire Golf Club every Friday morning
-Oadby Yoga Studio every Friday evening at 5.30pm
When I started working in the fitness industry 8 years ago, I noticed that most people using the gym were not warming up or cooling down before and after their workouts. At the time I was also offering sports massages at the University of Leicester. Therefore, a lot of people were approaching me with aches and pains. This lead me to look into the class timetable and I noticed that the majority of low intensity, stretch style classes like body balance, Pilates and Yoga were mainly attended by females. I asked if I could trial a stretch class at the University which I advertised as being suitable for everyone. The class is still a huge hit with the members and I now teach a huge variety of people. With it being a general class I always offer alternatives as some of the exercises aren’t suitable for everyone. I think it’s really important for us to listen to our bodies when they whisper so that we don’t have to hear them scream. I would like to create more awareness of how important it is to listen to our bodies and to try and improve our general well-being with low intensity, mobility exercises. As we are increasingly living more sedentary lifestyles it has a huge effect on our bodies and I want people to be able to know what to do to make themselves feel better.
